What to Expect
- This is a form of therapy primarily geared towards children in which the clinician encourages the child to explore life events through playing with toys, coloring, games & etc.
- This allows the clinician to have an introspective view of what may be influencing current unpleasant behaviors in the child.
- is a psychotherapeutic intervention used while working with children usually between the ages of 3 to 11 years.
What to Expect
- There are times that this intervention might be utilized with older individuals.
- This intervention is introduced to the parent/guardian as a way to allow the child to play with as few limits as possible in a safe environment. The therapist in the meantime is "tracking" what the child is doing in the session.
- The child learns that he/she is able to use toys in ways that he/she wishes allowing healing to occur at many levels for the child client.
